Desires over Ethics

Posted By Twyla on March 12, 2008 @ 4:40 pm

When I was in college, I was struggling financially. It was nothing new to me, as I grew up in a very poor and dysfunctional family. I was very smart growing up and this is the only reason I was able to even go to college in the first place.  I found the classes to be very easy, but I did not know if I could stick it out if I did not come up with some sort of income. That is when I decided that I would sell a custom term paper.

I knew that it was not very ethical, but I also thought it would be a terrible waste if I had to quit school, so I did what I had to do to survive. It all started with me selling just one custom research paper. I made enough money to last me a month with that sale. I felt bad, but deep down, I was so glad to be able to stay in school. The last place I wanted to go was home.

Soon, I had all kinds of people coming up to me and asking to buy essays. I decided that selling a few more would not hurt. It also helped that I really enjoyed writing essays. I decided to go for it and for the first time in my entire life, I did not have to worry about money. I had a steady stream of it coming in and I even afforded the luxury of buying new clothes, which was something that I never had my entire life.

Maybe what I did was wrong, but is it so wrong that I just wanted a good education?

Wedding Plans

Posted By Twyla on March 10, 2008 @ 3:19 am

He finally did it! He asked me to marry him and the ring is absolutely fabulous. I am so excited to actually start planning my wedding. It is going to be so wonderful and I have so many great ideas. I have had so much of it planned for years already. I know exactly what kind of flowers I am going to use and I know exactly where I want to hold the reception and dance.

I have always wanted to put tiny glass bowls with live goldfish in them on the tables as wedding favors. I saw this at a party once and thought it was a fantastic idea and it really would not cost that much. My fiancé thinks it is a good idea, too, and that was my main concern.

We are getting married in six months, and I have a lot to do to plan the wedding, but we are going to get started on the plans this weekend, and hopefully, between the two of us, we can come up with some really good ideas. I can’t believe it is finally happening.

A New Way to Showcase my Pictures

Posted By admin on March 8, 2008 @ 11:08 am

I have been dabbling with photography for many years.  Sure, most of the pictures that I take are kind of goofy, but I do take quite a few good, serious pictures as well.

For the longest time now, I have been using a digital camera to take pictures.  My reasoning was that I could take as many pictures as I want without spending an arm and a leg on film.  But the result of my decision is that I have many pictures sitting on my computer, but none of them are printed.

I thought it would be a good idea to print out some of my pictures and replace the ones that I currently have had on the wall for many years.  Sure, the ones on the wall are nice, but it would be nice to come home and look at something different.

But, I wanted a new look instead of the old wood frames that I was currently using.  I found a place that would put your photos onto canvas, and make your photographs look like pieces of art.  I have ordered some and it will be a nice way to showcase my photos – and make my home reminiscent of an art gallery.

Keeping The Value of Your Vehicle High

Posted By admin on February 23, 2008 @ 2:26 pm

You may have heard time and time again that when you drive a new vehicle off the lot, its’ value drops by half.  Now, depending on the vehicle, this can certainly be true, but I would beg to differ.  Sure the value would drop, but you can do things to help keep your vehicle value high for when you decide to sell it.

Some of the easiest ways to keep the value of your vehicle up is to protect it from wear and tear.  Some examples of this can be using seat covers and wash your vehicle regularly.  Keeping it clean inside and out not only makes a good impression, but it shows pride of ownership to a prospective buyer – if the buyer knows you baby your vehicle, they will be more likely to pay more for it.

Also, if you have a hitch on your vehicle, be sure to use something like Attitude hitch covers to protect your hitch from corrosion – and give your vehicle that added touch.  Even something as simple as a rusty hitch on your car or truck says that you don’t take care of your vehicle.

Finally, I would suggest doing something different than everyone else.  Make your vehicle stand out from the rest of the vehicles your buyer will be looking at.  Something as simple as taking off the Budge truck cover off your truck before you let them take a look will make a real impression.  Try it out and see – you will get more money for the sale of your vehicle.

Minimizing Travel Expenses Through Car Rentals

Posted By admin on February 15, 2008 @ 1:46 pm

Car rentals and minimizing travel expenses don’t seem to fit in the same sentence, right?  Well, I would have to argue that they do.  You see, you could just go to any car rental place, take what they give you , and just go with it, but in reality you would be paying too much.

I learned my lesson when I was traveling over in Europe.  While looking through the phone book for a car rental company, I accidentally turned the page to the "cheap car hire Spain" page.  Cheap car hire?  I never really thought of a cheaper option – so I had to check it out.

It turns out that a cheap car is just as good as a regular priced car rental – and surprisingly just as reliable.  I thought that they might cut corners, but from my experience, everything worked out okay.  I was sure to lookup "cheap car hire France" when I was in France, and that worked out remarkably well too.

So, if you are traveling anywhere in the world, and need to rent a car, see if there is a cheap option.  You would be amazed at the amount of money you will save.

I Think, Therefore I Am

Posted By Twyla on January 29, 2008 @ 5:28 pm

I am the type of person who has always tried to think outside the box. I am not a normal thinker and people notice that. I like to look at every situation and every decision from every angle before drawing a conclusion for myself.

I also deduce that if you think like that than you will meet and grow rich with other people who are straying off the beaten path of the worlds every day decisions. That is definitely my intention.

What  you do with those decisions is always your next choice and may very well be the most important choice that you make.  I know it can affect your life more than you will ever realize.

I think the smartest route is education. Learn what is involved before making decisions and figure out all of the possible outcomes. In the end, what you decide to do with your life will determine who you are and how much money you have.

Reaching the Top of the Search Engines

Posted By admin on January 20, 2008 @ 5:44 pm

It is every webmaster’s dream to be at the top of the search results for their search term.  Sure, if you are selling "polka dotted socks" you may have more success than ranking number one for "business opportunities".  But to be honest, even these highly competitive terms you could make it on the first page and even the top results if you do it right.

The key to these higher search engine rankings is using many different Internet marketing methods to push your rankings up from many angles.  Many people will use traditional marketing methods such as directory submissions, forum postings and article marketing.  But there are also some new ways that you can get your site to the top – and chances are your competition isn’t doing it.

The simple answer is to take advantage of the new online media available to you.  Something like creating a video for YouTube can drive traffic to your site.  You can also use some of the social media sites such as MySpace and Facebook.  In fact, there are at least a couple thousand sites that I can think of that will help you spread the word about your business.

So, just be sure that you are actively promoting your site each day – every link you get will get you closer to the top.

Introducing the Wealthy to Watch Replicas

Posted By Twyla on January 15, 2008 @ 8:43 pm

I decided that I was going to introduce everyone I know to watch replicas. You see, I come from a very wealthy family, and they tend to flaunt their money around like it would last forever. If they lose a Rolex, they go out and buy a new one. This does not work for me.

I thought if they would purchase replica watches, they could leave the real ones at home locked up and save a ton of money. It did not go over well, as they think there is a big difference. I argued until I was blue in the face, to no avail.

I, myself, wear a Rolex replica watch and they said they can tell it is not real. The funny thing is that they could not tell before I told them it wasn’t real. I give up. I guess I will be the only one who ends up rich, as I am the only one who knows that there is not an ever-flowing river of cash coming through.

A Mortgage in College: Good or Bad?

Posted By Twyla on December 25, 2007 @ 4:19 pm

I just got back from having coffee with my friend, who just got a mobile home mortgage. Before the coffee, I figured that she was pretty silly to be getting herself caught up in something like that, as we are very young and can still live at home for next to nothing.

She explained to me that she got a great deal and that mobile homes are going pretty cheap. She said that she got a manufactured home mortgage loan and that she will be able to pay it off in five years, even while attending college. She is excited that when she is done school, she will have a place to live and not be scrambling like so many other college grads.

She said that the PMI mortgage that she has is going to give her much freedoms and when she does graduate, she will have a place to live that costs her next to nothing, and should she decide to go for a house then, she can sell this one to cover a hefty part of the down payment on a new home. Maybe she is not so silly after all.

Hearing Change in my Ride

Posted By admin on December 8, 2007 @ 4:29 am

Now, as some of you know, I don’t drive the newest vehicle on the block.  Seriously, if you were born after 1992, chances are my car is older than you.  One of the interesting things about owning an older vehicle is that they tend to develop strange quirks that surprise you.

For example, I can remember a mini-van that I drove that you could not use the power windows in the rain.  Was that a safety feature?  I think not.  My car’s quirks are mostly tolerable, that is all except for one.

You see, at the end of winter last year, my stereo was acting up.  Unless it was very cold and had the rear defrost on, the stereo would not work at all.  Fast forward to this year and it is worse – it will only turn on if you have the car running for about an hour.

Now, instead of fixing it, or trying to figure out what the problem is, I have devised a solution.  While I was looking at some iPod Shuffle accessories at a store one day, I happened upon some iPod car speakers – all I have to do is plug them into the lighter socket.

So, before I go to bed each night, I make sure to hook up my iPod to the computer and it is all charged up for my ride to work.  Change never sounded so good…
