For the past two years I have been going on vacations during November since the summer is the busy season for the company I work for. So we don’t have the opportunity to take holidays until the winter months and therefore I have been exploring other countries besides my own to be my vacation destination of choice.
Last year, I decided to take a trip to Australia and I instantly fell in love with the country. Not only is it the nicest place I’ve ever been in the world, but I can see myself retiring there someday.
So this year, I’ve decided to return to Australia and instead of just staying a couple of weeks, I will be finding work in Australia to pay for my longer than average vacation.
I have been browsing the construction jobs and trade jobs in Australia while visiting job listing websites and I have applied for some of them that are available in the upcoming months. If everything goes as planned, I will be able to work while I am there and offset the costs of my holidays through the earnings from my job. If things work out well, I think this would be the way that I go on holidays in the future.
One of the perks of my job in is that we get staff discounts on vacations. Not only is this a great excuse to take a holiday, but it also makes the price of taking a vacation cheap enough so as to not hurt your finances too much.
In fact, by taking these cheap holidays, it not only makes us more productive workers, but we also consider it to be very much like having a bonus each year.

Due to a recent downsize at my old job, I found myself looking for a new job for the first time in many years. Not only do this put me in a scary position, but I also considered it to be a great opportunity. I had advanced as far as I could go in my old job, so by getting a new one, I had opportunity to grow.
