For the past two years I have been going on vacations during November since the summer is the busy season for the company I work for.  So we don’t have the opportunity to take holidays until the winter months and therefore I have been exploring other countries besides my own to be my vacation destination of choice.

Last year, I decided to take a trip to Australia and I instantly fell in love with the country.  Not only is it the nicest place I’ve ever been in the world, but I can see myself retiring there someday.

So this year, I’ve decided to return to Australia and instead of just staying a couple of weeks, I will be finding work in Australia to pay for my longer than average vacation.

I have been browsing the construction jobs and trade jobs in Australia while visiting job listing websites and I have applied for some of them that are available in the upcoming months.  If everything goes as planned, I will be able to work while I am there and offset the costs of my holidays through the earnings from my job.  If things work out well, I think this would be the way that I go on holidays in the future.

One of the perks of my job in is that we get staff discounts on vacations.  Not only is this a great excuse to take a holiday, but it also makes the price of taking a vacation cheap enough so as to not hurt your finances too much.

In fact, by taking these cheap holidays, it not only makes us more productive workers, but we also consider it to be very much like having a bonus each year.

In the past year, have taken advantage of the discount to get cheap flights to Turkey which is one of my favorite travel destinations.  I spent a lot of time in Icmeler Turkey as I have family there and I also enjoy sitting on their beaches.

If it wasn’t for the staff discount, chances are that we would only be able to afford one vacation per year.  If that was the case, I don’t think I would be as productive in the workplace.

Due to a recent downsize at my old job, I found myself looking for a new job for the first time in many years.  Not only do this put me in a scary position, but I also considered it to be a great opportunity.  I had advanced as far as I could go in my old job, so by getting a new one, I had opportunity to grow.

Out of all the job applications and I filled out, I only got one callback.  Thankfully, the interview was rather easy and I was hired on the spot.

At that point, I became a call center operator for the major roofing companies in our area.  We were responsible for booking appointments as well is handling warranty calls.

On a typical day, I received calls for roofing Cranston RI, flat roofing Cranston RI, and commercial roofing Cranston RI.  Even though all the calls are related to roofing, it is interesting to see what kind of jobs come our way.  I am a little worried that I might get bored of this job, but there are opportunities for advancement and hopefully I’ll be able to take advantage of them.

Instead of taking a summer vacation this summer, I decided that I should maybe find a summer job that was an area of the world that I would be interested in visiting.  This way, it would turn into some sort of working vacation, that would not only put money in my pocket, but allow me to enjoy my summer.

So I have been looking at all the online job sites at opportunities for employment in foreign countries.  Specifically, I’ve been looking at working in hotels or resorts, where accommodations are provided.  I figured that way, I would get to me more English speaking people as well as enjoy all the amenities at a resort or hotel would offer.

I think I found a job to apply for at the Seminyak Bali villas, a luxurious resort on the island of Bali.  It looks think they have many different openings and I will be sure to apply for all of them in hopes that it will be the working vacation in my dreams.

Usually my day at work goes smoothly, but I guess it was destined not to go smoothly today.  You see, we had some problems this morning with our credit card processing machine during our breakfast rush hour and it quickly became a big headache for our restaurant.

We had patrons leaving before they were seated and a lot of unhappy customers.  Try as we might, we were unable to get the machine to work at all - so I decided that we needed to call the customer service line for support.

After navigating through the menus, I was finally able to talk to a real person.  I explained the problem and they were able to help me through it quickly and easily.  In fact, I was rather surprised that they were as helpful as they were - I have had bad phone service experience in the past.

But, we finally were able to get it to work and that helped to save the day.  Hopefully, we won’t have any more problems before my shift is over (fingers crossed).

I have come a long way in my career in the medical field. After high school, I decided to become a medical office assistant. I enjoyed that so much that I went back to school to become a registered nurse. I did that for a few years and then I went to medical school to become a doctor.

I am now very well known in the medical community and I have gone on to become one of the top surgeons in the country. I am not one to brag, as I am actually a pretty humble person, but there were so many things against me when I first started.

My mother was an alcoholic and told me numerous times that I would never amount to anything and my dad was just indifferent. I felt that I had something to prove to both of them and to myself and I have not quite finished proving it yet.

The greatest words that my ears have ever heard was the day that my dad said he was proud of me. That was what made this all worth it.

Of all the professions in all the world, I would say that the scariest one would have to be that of fire performers. There is just so much danger in everything that they do and they are risking getting burned, especially in learning a new act. I can say this because I have a close friend that does this for a living and I am afraid for him.

He used to show me his new moves and I am now to the point that I cannot watch anymore. It just makes me way to nervous. I am a worrier to begin with, so I am not a good mixture with that. I think that what eh does is fascinating and I know that he entertains hundreds of people with his acts, but I often wonder if it is really worth it.

He has, of course, burned himself before, but he is good at what he does and is confident in his abilities. I just hope that he does not grow overconfident and become careless one day. I worry that the old saying is true: if you play with fire, you are going to get burned. I certainly hope not!

We have been short staffed at work so many of us have been working in different departments than we usually do.  Normally, I work at night and stock the shelves in the grocery departments.  But last night, one person called in sick, so I was asked to stock the shelves in the sporting and outdoors department.

I was excited to finally have a change of scenery as I have been stocking groceries for last five years.  It was my chance to see another part of the store and see what I have been missing.

I started out stocking tents and other camping supplies and I found a few things that I will buy before summer hits.  I then moved over to stocking out the paintball guns and I was surprised at the number of models that we carried.  I think, that I will need to buy a Spyder paintball gun to replace my old one that I have at home.

Though I was tired by the end of the night, it was nice to have a change of scenery and find a few things to spend my hard earned money on.

I have a great employer. I enjoy my job so much and my boss makes it both entertaining and fun. He says that just because we are at work doesn’t mean that our day should be dull and boring. In fact, he said that as long as we are getting our work done, we do not even have much of a schedule. Just yesterday, a friend and I took a forty-five minute coffee break.

The boss always has little games and incentive programs that make us want to work harder to earn points and prizes. He is also very fair, making sure that everyone gets a chance to win some of the incentive programs, and everyone can be a winner. We all love him and I could totally see myself being a lifetime employee.

The most recent contest we had gave us a chance to win event tickets to any concert that we wanted to attend during the next year. I thought this was a great prize as being able to pick what event we could go to. There were definitely a lot of people working hard to win. What a great way to have effective employees.

I have been working in the purchasing department of our industrial mechanic shop for a long time now.  It is a great job and I have enjoyed it over the years.

Lately, I have been flooded with a large number of new products that are on the market.  I have been assigned to do research on these new products and determine as to whether or not they would be a good buy for our company.

This past week, I have been doing some research on tires for Bobcat skid steer.  Part of the reasoning is that they are new, and the other is we have been having some customers with problems with flat tires.  I was able to find some options, and have decided to look into the availability of flat proof tires.

We want to keep our customers happy, and that is what my research does.  I can’t complain, as it makes my job a little more interesting.
