Happy People on Wheels

When my daughter first got her license and had her first car, we called around to get a cheap car insurance rate for her. We knew that having the car was going to be a big expense for her and we did not want her to work any more than she already did, for fear that she would pay the price with her grades in school.

We had thought that there was no way a first time driver could get cheap auto insurance and we were pleasantly surprised at some of the great deals that we were able to find. It ended up costing her a whole lot less than we had estimated and she was happy with the freedom that her wheels afforded her.

My husband decided to switch to the same company for his classic car insurance, as it was a substantial savings compared to what he had been paying. We have learned that it definitely pays to shop around and it is nice to be living with two happy people.

Pretty Pink Racer

I was asking my friend the other day about the racing stripes on his car. I know that he had them put on and I wanted to know what it cost. He informed me that he had them painted on professionally and I knew I could not afford that on a babysitter’s salary, so he suggested that I get some vinyl racing stripes and he would be happy to put them on for me.

I went to the local store that actually specializes in making custom signs. But, I figured if anyone in town carried these, it would be them. I was in luck, sort of. They had some, but they were not necessarily in any of the colors I would have chosen. Sal, the guy who owns the store was really nice, though, and told me he would order me some if I wanted.

While I was walking up and down the aisles, looking at all the yard signs, I racked my brains as to exactly what color I should go with. In the end, I decided that it was going to be pink. I am a girly girl after all, and I am always wearing pink. You should have seen Sal’s face. It was great.
