Using Images from the Web for Valentine Craft Projects

Valentines Day will arrive before you know it, so it’s time once again to begin planning valentine craft projects. I love this time of the year because every Valentines Day allows me another opportunity to get creative. It also means I have to look on the Internet for new Valentines Day craft ideas. But that’s not a bad thing, so I kind of look forward to it every year.

Normally my process is to search for free valentine’s clip art that helps me set the tone for the project. Since this will be for Valentines Day, I will restrict my searches to hearts, flowers or other iconic Valentine’s Day images. Doing that should be a no-brainer, because the ’Net has so much Valentines Day clip art.

It’s been my past experience that vintage valentines available on the Internet provide wonderful inspiration for Valentines Day craft projects. Since the cards already have terrific designs, even a relatively simple structure will produce a fun craft project. Another great idea for creating Valentines Day crafts is to use vintage scrapbook flowers. Online scrapbook supplies include diverse paper designs and all manner of scrapbook embellishments, paper photo frames, borders and many other fun elements. There are even three dimensional stickers that have recently become very popular. In the end I’m sure you’ll find that scrapbook supplies — whether digital or bought in a store — can add a spark of color to a finished product.

So when you set about making valentine craft projects this year, remember to go online. Keep it simple and let the art you choose shine through. That will help you produce professional looking results and will also make the project easier to construct. Oohs and aahs from family and friends will probably result. And if you plan to sell your Valentines Day crafts, doing so will be that much more viable.
