Planning a Successful Wedding

Posted By admin on December 15, 2008 @ 5:52 pm

I will be the first to admit that I know nothing about how to plan a wedding.  Sure, I have watched some wedding planning movies, but truth be told, I don’t really know what needs to be done.  I could blame it on the fact that I am a guy, but that wouldn’t be much of an excuse, would it?

Not to step down from a challenge, I decided  that I could figure the whole thing out.  I didn’t really want to have to learn the whole process by myself by any means, but I thought that organizing beach wedding ceremonies (the type of wedding my wife to be wanted) should be a piece of cake.

Early on, I decided that I would find a wedding officiant to help us arrange the whole thing because my wife wanted to get married in her hometown of Mackay, Queensland and I knew no one there.

After a couple of phone calls, I had arranged the perfect celebrant for us and we are in the process of planning the ceremony.  With just a couple of months to go before the big day, I feel that the wedding will be successful – at least I hope it will be.

Adding a Christmas Village to our Mantle

In our house, Christmas is a time of joyous celebration and family.  We take the time to do as many things together – everything from the Christmas baking to decorating the tree.

This year, we have decided to add a new tradition with the addition of some pieces to create a Lemax Christmas Village in our own home.  I have a good friend that has had one for a number of years, and lately I have been noticing how much joy it brings to his kids, so I hope it does the same for mine.

We will be setting it up tonight on the mantle above the fireplace – though it will be small this year, if it goes well, we will be adding to it each year for years to come.
