Great Deals Online for Disney World Tickets

Posted By admin on July 25, 2008 @ 7:04 pm

Ever since we had children, the price to go on a vacation has become more and more of an issue.  Instead of saving up for a month to go away, we now have to save up for almost a year just so we can go way for a couple weeks.

In an effort to make our vacations more friendly our pocketbooks, we have been looking online for deals and coupons that we can use to reduce the cost of our trips.  So far this is work pretty good and we are currently doing research and how we can save money for our trip to Disney World and the inevitable purchase of Disney tickets.

From our research online, we learned that you can get Hopper tickets that are sort of an add-on to the regular tickets which allows you to visit as many attractions in one day without having to buy new tickets for each one.  This is very important for us since our kids have different interests and they of all suggested that we go to different attractions while we are there.

If you’re heading down to Disney World in the future, I would suggest you look into purchasing Hopper tickets and save yourself some money.  Visit the following site and read more about them.

Our Hotel Has Great Deals If You Know Where to Look

Posted By admin on @ 3:01 pm

One of the most frustrating things that bother me is when I have to charge a hotel guest the regular rate for their room.  You see, I work at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as a front desk clerk and it is my job to assign rooms to our guests.

What most of our guests don’t know is that they can save a lot of money if they just knew about the Las Vegas promotion codes that you can find online.  Quite often, our hotel is in full to capacity so we offer deep discounts on our unoccupied rooms just so that we can make some money instead of making nothing at all.

Other Las Vegas hotels do the same thing but we don’t publicize it to our guests as we would never charged the full rewrite.  But, if you plan ahead and are thinking of staying at the MGM Grand, I would suggest checking out the MGM Grand promotion codes that are available online and get a great deal on your next stay here.

Taking Control of Credit Card Debt

Posted By admin on July 23, 2008 @ 7:01 pm

From a very young age, I was taught how to manage money properly by my parents.  I was sure to save a bit of everything that came into my pocket and by the time I was 18 I had my own little nest egg of about $10,000.  At this point in my life, I went to college and it was at this point that I started to run into money problems.

It all started with the first credit card that I was approved for an it went on from there.  All of a sudden, I could spend outside of my means and I could just pay it off with a low minimum payment each month.  After my first car, I have a second, then a third, and then I started to run for problems.

I was at the point where he needed to find a guide on how to reduce credit card debt without having to declare bankruptcy.  I had considered taking advantage of some of the poor credit debt consolidation loans on the market but I figured that by taking that route it was only going to be a Band-Aid solution.

It was at that point that I was introduced to the concept of debt diet plans which was a systematic way to reduce your credit card debt while making sure to avoid getting into this situation a second time.  Though I still have a way to go before I am debt-free, I know that by following the debt diet that I am on that I have saved my credit score and avoided going bankrupt.

Construction Call Center

Posted By admin on July 22, 2008 @ 10:45 am

Due to a recent downsize at my old job, I found myself looking for a new job for the first time in many years.  Not only do this put me in a scary position, but I also considered it to be a great opportunity.  I had advanced as far as I could go in my old job, so by getting a new one, I had opportunity to grow.

Out of all the job applications and I filled out, I only got one callback.  Thankfully, the interview was rather easy and I was hired on the spot.

At that point, I became a call center operator for the major roofing companies in our area.  We were responsible for booking appointments as well is handling warranty calls.

On a typical day, I received calls for roofing Cranston RI, flat roofing Cranston RI, and commercial roofing Cranston RI.  Even though all the calls are related to roofing, it is interesting to see what kind of jobs come our way.  I am a little worried that I might get bored of this job, but there are opportunities for advancement and hopefully I’ll be able to take advantage of them.

A Permanent Fix

Posted By Twyla on July 21, 2008 @ 6:34 am

My son started wearing glasses when he was four years old. When he was twelve, he wanted to get contacts because he felt like he was ridiculed because of the glasses. At sixteen, he decided that he wanted a permanent fix with laser eye surgery.

I started looking into laser eye surgery prices and found that it was quite affordable. We buy him new glasses and contact lenses every year, so it would actually be a cheaper alternative in the long run. After some discussion, my husband and I decided that he could have the surgery.

I made an appointment for him with a laser eye surgery doctor and after an examination, the doctor said that the surgery would be no problem at all. He booked in for the procedure and everything went well. He is happy with the results and we are glad that we could do something to make his life a little bit easier.

Useful for Someone

My dad likes to go to auction sales and often comes home with boxes full of junk. At one particular auction he went to, he bought a box of miscellaneous computer parts and in the box was a Zune travel charger. Not knowing what a Zune was, he was going to throw it out.

I told him that I would take it, as I had a friend who owned a Zune and I would see if he wanted it. I asked him if he had one and he said that he just had the Zune car charger. I gave it to him and he was thrilled with it.

The only reason I even knew what it was was because it had a logo on it and I knew I had seen it on his Zune dock cable before. I am glad that dad did not throw it out because at least it has some use to someone.

Lost in the Phone Store

Posted By Twyla on July 17, 2008 @ 12:43 pm

When I was shopping for a cell phone for my teenage daughter, I had no idea what I was doing. I had never had a cell phone before, but it was what she really wanted for Christmas. I also thought it was a good idea for me to be able to keep track of her, now that she was so independent.

I had no ideas what questions to ask, but the sales person was excellent. He suggested that I get one that had secure gsm. I had no idea what that was, so I just nodded my head and agreed. Like I said, I was a little lost in the store.

I bought the one with the cell phone encryption that he had recommended and my daughter loved it. In the end, that is all that mattered. That, and the fact that I would feel better knowing where she was.

What SEO Contest?

Posted By admin on July 16, 2008 @ 12:08 pm

While participating in a webinar the other day, there was a lot of talk about some sort of SEO contest.  I had not heard anything at all, and the only thing that I knew was it was put on by some company with Busby in its name.

So I decided to do a search online to see what everyone was so excited about.  I mean, there had to be sites that had details, right?

I was surprised to find almost a million results - this thing had to be popular.  After a couple of clicks, I found myself at a site that detailed the entire Busby SEO Challenge.

As it turns out, I had to register.  The Busby SEO Challenge Winner get a prize of $5,000 cash - definitely a good incentive for me.

Now, all I will have to figure out is how I am going to market the site that I have made for the contest.  I am not the best web marketer - do you guys have any ideas?

Starting Hotel Renovations

Posted By admin on July 12, 2008 @ 2:15 pm

We recently had the opportunity to acquire a hotel in an auction.  We bought the property for pennies on the dollar, though we knew that it needed some renovations and updating.

So for the past month or so, we have been renovating the hotel.  We have replaced the carpet, the light fixtures, and the beds.  We just have the bathrooms left and we should be ready to reopen again.

We have had to make some decisions when it comes to the facilities that we are going to have in each room.  While we originally decided that we were going to have bathtubs in each room, we have instead decided to go with shower cubicles.  Not only will the showers take up less room, but we can make the rooms slightly bigger, and therefore charge more per night.

There is a sales rep coming to talk to us about electric showers as well - supposedly it will save us money on utility bills.

Needless to say, it is nice that this work is almost done - we need to start to make money really soon.

Renewing my Home Insurance

Posted By admin on July 11, 2008 @ 5:17 pm

It is that time of year for me - time to renew my home insurance.  I pay in one big payment each year and it is a good opportunity to go down to the insurance agency to make sure that I have everything covered.

But, I have been thinking that maybe I should shop around and get as many home insurance quotes as I can.  I thought that I do comparison shopping for just about everything else, so why shouldn’t I try to find the best rate for my home insurance as well.

Well, I decided to go online to see if I could get all the quotes from the comfort of my own home.  It was as simple as doing a search for "home insurance Ontario" to find all the providers in my province.  From all the websites, I was able to submit my information and get an online quote in a short period of time.

From there, I decided to print out the quotes so that I could go through each one of them individually.  From my research, it turns out that my current provider offers almost the best deal - not enough to merit switching companies.  I think I will go down there on Monday to renew my coverage.
