Do you have a website?
Well I have had a couple for awhile now. Originally, when I built my first site, I thought that people would just come - just like if you setup a new restaurant on a busy street.
Boy was I wrong.
Imagine my surprise when no one (except for my mother) was visiting my site - I thought I was doing everything right, but obviously I was wrong.
It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, but I sure could. I consulted with one of my good friends online to ask what he would suggest that I do. He asked what kind of link building strategies that I had in place - what was that?
After a half hour chat, I learned that you needed links back to your site to get traffic. He suggested a couple of sites that had great link building ideas that I could use in my process of link building for my sites. He was even nice enough to give me a couple of high value links from his sites to get me started.
Now that I have a better grasp of what to do, I know how important link building is to the bottom line of your site - without links to your site, you just can’t make any money. Really it is as simple as that.
I am the type of person who has always tried to think outside the box. I am not a normal thinker and people notice that. I like to look at every situation and every decision from every angle before drawing a conclusion for myself.
I also deduce that if you think like that than you will meet and grow rich with other people who are straying off the beaten path of the worlds every day decisions. That is definitely my intention.
What you do with those decisions is always your next choice and may very well be the most important choice that you make. I know it can affect your life more than you will ever realize.
I think the smartest route is education. Learn what is involved before making decisions and figure out all of the possible outcomes. In the end, what you decide to do with your life will determine who you are and how much money you have.
I was helping my friend go through her books the other day for her business. As she is still in her first year she had a lot of questions and was thankful for all the help she could get. She wanted to know more about profit systems, as it seemed, to her, like she was not making much money.
I explained to her that you would very rarely see real profits during the first year of business, as most of the profits are put back into it the first year. She understood this and we crunched away at numbers for the entire evening.
She seemed to have all of her investments in very good order and her books were kept very well organized and up to date. This made it a lot easier for us and we decided, after more number crunching, that her business was going to do quite well.
We also went ahead and looked up some business reviews on similar businesses and we found out that she is right on track to where she would be. I think she slept well that night for the first time in a long time.
I own quite a few blog sites that double as article sites for advertising and aiding in search engine rankings. I post articles with links in them and I have been very pleased with the results.
I have become my own website advisor and I must say that I have been learning so much recently. The knowledge alone has been worth it for me and I do not regret getting into it one bit. I think it is something that will definitely pay off in the end.
I have been doing a lot of keyword research, in order to learn even more. I hope to someday be able to help others with the marketing of their own websites.
I am thinking that when I learn a little bit more and am successful in promoting my own sites, that I may set up my own SEO services company, available to others who are interested in learning, as I have.
I was looking through my friend’s scrapbook the other day and it was chock full of just cool stuff. It was amazing how creative she was and I only wish I could create something as beautiful as her book was.
I have tried scrapbooking and my book is filled with just stupid stuff. I am not the creative sort and I don’t pretend to be. Mine basically looks like my pictures had an accident with paper and glue.
I decided that I would look at some page layouts online and I found some very cool websites that deal completely with scrapbooking for beginners. That is exactly what I need as I am very much a beginner.
I went to some of the sites that got the best reviews with my friends and found some very simple, yet nice, page layouts. I thought that was definitely something that I could do. I might end up being a scrapbooker yet.
I find that my news and opinions are really very valued. Especially, at dinnertime when I get three phone calls a week asking me if I can complete a short telephone survey. It never used to bother me, but it is happening so often.
What really bothers me is when they call and ask if I can do some consumer reviews. I agree to and we start the long process of question after question. Then, when they have wasted twenty minutes of your time, you answer something wrong and they tell you that you are not eligible for the survey.
I understand that product reviews are important to the companies that develop the products, but could the surveyor find out your eligibility to take the survey before you get through the whole process? That would certainly save my time and theirs.
Better yet, they should just set up some website reviews and then they could call people and ask them to complete the short survey on the website. A lot of people would be willing to do this and we could do it after we finish eating dinner. What a novel idea.
Recently, I was trying to help a friend of mine find a good traffic violation attorney. You see, she has accumulated way too many traffic violations and she has been summoned to court. She swears that she is a good driver, but if she would just face the facts - she just shouldn’t be driving.
Unwilling to face the reality, all she wants to do is get a good lawyer to defend her in court. Since she lives in the Bronx, I looked up "Bronx traffic violation lawyer" in the phonebook, but I had no luck.
She suggested that we could maybe find a Manhattan traffic violation attorney - but there was no listings for that either.
After a bit of brainstorming (and flipping a lot of pages), we found listings under NYC traffic violation attorney. Why are they only listed under the one term, I don’t know. But we better get calling to find her a lawyer in time for this afternoon (did I forget to mention that my friend is a procrastinator too?).
We recently had our staff Christmas party and all of the staff received replica watches as Christmas gifts. We joked with the boss about the reasons for getting them. It was suggested that we were tardy and we needed watches to help us to get to work on time. It was a good laugh for everyone.
Seriously though, the watches were very nice and we always get great Christmas presents where I work. For the top end supervisors, there were even Rolex replicas. This is nice because most if these people will never be able to afford something like this as long as they are working here.
I am not meaning to make my boss sound cheap, as we are paid well, but the reality is that we do not work in the type of industry that allows for us to be able to buy Rolex watches. So, the gifts were wonderful and appreciated, as are our bosses.
Alright. I know it is weird for a guy to go shopping early, but at the start of this year, I made a vow to do things sooner as opposed to later. So yes, I was out mother’s day shopping today.
Funny thing is I was not just shopping for one person, but in fact three people - my mother, my wife and my grandmother. In past years, I have bought dumb things like books, kitchen utensils (whenever I ask my mother what she wants, she always answers that she needs a new spoon), and other stupid stuff. I decided that this year would be the year where everything changed - and I would buy some sort of designer jewelry for them.
I found myself in a luxury jewelry store for the second time in my life. Thankfully, there was a helpful clerk that helped me to navigate through this foreign territory to the case that held what I was looking for: unique designer jewelry.
I was able to find three beautiful necklaces, each one unique, and what I thought was perfect for each of them. Even though it feels weird to have all my shopping done, it feels good too - but now I have to find a place to hide everything for almost four months…..
When I come home from a long day at work, I like to look at the entertainment reviews on my computer. I would not say that I am a die hard, but I do like to keep up to date on the comings and goings of Hollywood starlets.
I am pretty much up to date on the net gossip and I usually am the ones to call and tell my friends who died and who is pregnant and so on. I know before it hits the newspapers, that are for sure.
I read all the reviews every day when I get home from work, so I even know which movies to go see and which ones to avoid. From reading these I am also pretty good at being able to judge which new TV shows are going to be duds.
I love to go to great places like ratingzone for all the latest info and they even have info on books and that sort of thing that does not interest me one single bit. But, it would be a reason for some of my friends to go there.
